IN LOVE WITH PARIS

For any of you who have the longing to visit (or revisit) Paris, the way I do, here is an article by Michelle S. Kurlander. I subscribe to the Bonjour Paris newsletter and her article on Obama's November 4th victory initially caught my attention, with the title, "I guess I am not moving to Paris." From there, my meandering eye found this little article. Who knows, maybe Obama will begin to make all good things happen. Maybe 2009 will be the year to sip wine in Paris and speak of love, hope and prosperity for all. That idea is worth stuffing into one of my dreams. How about your dreams?

This is an exceptional article and makes me want to visit Paris BADLY! The only time I was ever there years and years ago, I was terribly sick with the 'flu and could not really enjoy it. I do remember forcing myself to go up the Eiffel tower as I was in *Paris* damn it and was not going to miss that! Thank you for posting this, a great Sunday a.m. read, something to dream on... Wow! Thanks for sharing this amazing article Marylou. Reading Michelle Kurlander's minute by minute account was the next best thing to actually being able to stand in Grant's Park field Tuesday evening. She describes so well 'the tears of euphoria and hope' after all the years of angst... 'disbelief , fear and hot anger' after 2000 and 2004 elections and beyond.
Yes, thoughts of JFK but also of his brother Robert and of M.L. King and of how things might have been . I guess most of the free world is feeling some of that joy and hope in Barack Obama.

May 2009 be the year you 'sip wine in Paris' Marylou. In the meantime, enjoy "Bonjour Paris" and your dreams! I visited Paris long ago and would love to return. My beloved maternal Grandad studied the French language all his life and taught me my first idiom, 'faux pas'! *grin*
